Fine Arts Department

The Fine Arts department is committed to the promotion, appreciation and development of the Arts. The Arts teach the students creativity, cultural diversity and the Humanities. We are committed to the education of the whole child and making them aware of their own talents. We promote student art through school displays, concerts, art contests and presentations.

FACULTY

Judy McCarty
Fine Arts Department Coordinator
Judy McCarty is a Denver native and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1973. Mrs. McCarty graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Art Education. In 2006, she completed a three year course study from the Lasallian Leadership Institute. Mrs. McCarty has taught at Mullen High School for 16 years, serves as the Yearbook Adviser, and Lasallian Youth Moderator. She has three children who are all graduates of Mullen (Ryan, Class of 1999; Colleen, Class of 2000; and Kelly, Class of 2005).
   
Chris Dixon
Fine Arts Department
Chris Dixon attended Fort Lewis College and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Photography and also holds a degree in Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Mr. Dixon is entering his 27th year of teaching which the majority of these years have been within the Archdiocese.
   
Cassie Steinhauser
Fine Arts Department
Cassie Steinhauser is a Colorado native. She graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in French Language and Culture, then from NYU's Steinhardt School of Education with an M.A. in Educational Theatre. Ms. Steinhauser spent 8 months studying in Aix-en-Provence, France, and worked 5 summers as a travel guide for teen travel tours. This is her second year at Mullen as the French teacher and Theatre Director, as well as an advisor for Mullen's Fashion Club.
