ABOUT THE SHADOW PROGRAM:
Mullen invites 8th grade students to become a “Mustang for a Day.” Our unique shadowing experience allows potential Mustangs the opportunity to see what a typical day is like for a Mullen student. Each shadow is matched with a Mullen host and follows him or her throughout their school day, including lunch. If you have a particular Mullen student you would like to shadow we will do our best to accommodate those requests. We want each shadow to have the best possible experience and witness a typical Mullen school day; therefore some dates are unavailable – such as homecoming week, mid- term exams, final exams, or half days in order to provide a more realistic view of the Mullen experience.
SHADOW VISIT REGISTRATION:
To register your son or daughter for a shadow visit, please make sure you have filled out our online inquiry form (note the inquiry form only needs to be submitted one time for your child), this information provided in the inquiry form will be used as emergency contact information. Once the online inquiry form (or online application) is completed you will have access to our Admission Event Registration page.
If you are currently in high school and looking to shadow you must fill out our online application prior to your visit. Current high school students must have a current application on file before they can shadow.
The link on the Event Registration page will take you to our partnering site and allow you to schedule a shadow visit. Locate the date you would like your student to shadow. Find an available open shadow spot and click on the sign up button. Please fill out the necessary information. Please use your CHILD’S NAME when you are signing up. There will be a few questions regarding your student and their shadow day. If all of the shadow spots are filled for the day you are interested in please contact Frank Cawley or Lindsay Hooper in the Admissions office and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.
ON THE DAY OF YOUR VISIT:
On the day of your Shadow Visit, please arrive at the Administrative Building Lobby at 7:30 a.m. on a regular start day and either 8:30 or 9:30 a.m. for a one hour or two hour late start day on Wednesdays. Make sure when registering on a Wednesday that you pay special attention to the start time. Shadows will be introduced to their Mullen host and the day will begin! Parents are welcome and invited to request a campus tour and informational meeting with the Admissions staff after our morning prayer. If Parents are unable to stay for a morning meeting we are happy to meet with you in the afternoon.
We expect shadows to dress in manner similar to our Mullen dress standard. Therefore we ask that young men wear khaki or navy pants or shorts with polo or collared shirt. Ladies may wear khaki or navy pants, shorts or skirt (length should be three inches above the knee) with a polo or collared shirt. Shirts should be in neutral colors if possible.
The Mullen Admission Office will be providing lunch in our cafeteria. Students will be provided with a drink, meal, and dessert. Students may also bring their own lunch if they prefer.
